Breakthrough is the first of its kind UK-wide social impact accelerator – providing people with direct experience of social injustice the support, tools and network they need to lead campaigns and achieve impact.

After our successful pilot year that saw two of our campaign groups win national awards – and thanks to committed support from our funding partners including Joseph Rowntree Foundation, Changing Ideas and Betterworld Foundation – in 2023 we are scaling our programmes and laying the foundations for a sustainable organisation that will support campaigners to win change for years to come.

We are seeking two new people to join our Board of Directors –  specifically we are looking for one board member who is an experienced and qualified accountant to join as Treasurer and one additional board member with previous board experience.

You’ll be joining an experienced board including John Coventry, VP International at GoFundMe, Edward Daffarn, a leading community campaigner & Grenfell survivor and Cindy Sweeney UK Head of Corporate Governance & Company Secretariat at Zurich Insurance. And working alongside the co-founder & Executive Director Katherine Sladden, former Campaigners Director at Change.org and one of the UK’s leading experts on people-power campaigning.

This is a unique opportunity to join an exciting organisation working at the forefront of some of the UK’s most important social justice issues – at an early stage of its development. Helping to establish the organisation on a sure-footing and ensuring it will realise its full potential.
